# About

## Who we are

Akuadora Help is a community initiative of [Akuadora](https://www.akuadora.net), a company specialised in Linux, Unix and open-source engineering. We use what we know best (computers, Linux and free software) to help people on a low income in the UK.

We are **not a registered charity**. Our help is free, and we don't sell anything.

## What we believe

- **Being online is a basic need**, not a luxury.
- **Free software** means a donated laptop costs its new owner nothing: no licences, no subscriptions.
- **Reuse beats recycling.** A working laptop should be used, not shredded.
- **Respect.** We help without judgement, and we treat your information carefully.

## For charities and community groups

Small charities and community groups can ask us for free IT help: a simple website, email addresses, or backups, hosted on our own servers in Europe. Email <help@akuadora.net> to talk about what you need.
