mail.akuadora.net: email

Read and send your @akuadora.net mail in any mail app: Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or your phone.

Addresses

  • info@akuadora.net is the main address. Mail for postmaster@, webmaster@, abuse@ and other standard addresses also arrives here.
  • help@akuadora.net is for questions about these websites.

Mailboxes are created by hand. Ask for one at help@akuadora.net. There is no webmail: you use a mail app.

Settings for your mail app

Most apps ask for your address and password and then try to find the rest. If that fails, choose manual setup, IMAP and fill in:

Incoming mail (IMAP) Outgoing mail (SMTP)
Server mail.akuadora.net mail.akuadora.net
Port 993 465
Security SSL/TLS SSL/TLS
User name your full address, e.g. info@akuadora.net your full address
Password your mailbox password the same password

If your app can't use port 465, use port 587 with STARTTLS for outgoing mail.

Outgoing mail always needs your user name and password ("my outgoing server requires authentication"). You can only send as your own address.

Folders

Your mailbox comes with Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Junk and Trash. Point your app at these folders so sent mail and drafts are kept on the server and show up on all your devices.

Something not working?

  • "Password incorrect": check that the user name is your full address. After 5 wrong passwords in 10 minutes your internet address is blocked for an hour. Wait, then try again with the right password.
  • Certificate warning: the server name must be exactly mail.akuadora.net. Don't accept a warning for any other name.
  • Can't send from home: some home internet providers block port 25, but your app should use 465 or 587, which are not blocked.

Still stuck? Email help@akuadora.net from another address, and say which app and device you use. Never send your password.

For other mail servers

mta-sts.akuadora.net is not a website for people. It publishes a small policy file that tells other mail servers (Gmail, Outlook and others) to deliver mail for akuadora.net only to mail.akuadora.net, and only over an encrypted connection. Opening it in a browser shows an empty "not found" page. That is normal.
